That's Saturday for you lesser individuals. I'm soo excited. It's like a whole new journey, ya know?
Here's the deets (details, duh):

The name of the farm is Valhalla Trakehners or Valhalla Farm. [link} http://www.valhallatrakehner.com/

I will be an assistant in breeding, a groom for Erin (trainer), and have the responsibilites the other working students have. Which is feeding, turning out, grooming, exercising, riding, etc.

Since I have more responsibilites I get $800 a month and the other working students get $400 a month. :D

There is the house I will be sharing with 2 or 3 other students. It's free to live there, no utilities at all, but I've heard from another girl that the tv only gets vhl...o well hopefully I'll be too busy to care much about tv anyways. There are two other cats in the house, so hopefully Bruiser will get along with them!

Finances are still on the rocks and I think it will take me another month to get caught up on everything. Grrr much

I'm so happy that now when I get up in the morning I will be going to a job centered around horses all day long. Like could it get any better. Now I don't want to jinx it, I'm sure you'll here me bitch about the cons of the job too. But whatever man this rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cionara, Destin!!!!!!!!!!!
Krystle

Here's an update on what's been going on lately

I moved Chloe to The Equestrian Center Friday May 5th. It rocks and there's actually other human interaction there compared to Hollytree! There's usually always a lesson going on or something fun. It rocks.

Still talking to Jean Brinkman at Valhalla Trakehners in Wellborn, FL about a live in position there. Trying to work out the finer details. It might happen, you never know.

I'm really broke, but it's not just not having money, it's checks bouncing and shit. It's pretty bad. Oh yeah. But I won't dwell, I know I'll live. Whatev.

Work's been cutting my hours, can't wait to leave that place.

My mom's in VA seeing my Aunt Lisa who is pretty sick. So it's been just me and Larry here for like a week. Weird. Lots of fast food.

I'm trying to stop caring so much, can you tell? Fuck it.

The glass is half emty and I like it that way.

Hmm I'm going now, what are you gonna do about? Yeah that's what I thought.

Well, well, well,....Work is getting a bit better and I did say a BIT. I still would rather be outside in the sunshine working with horses than pretending that I know what I'm doing. I've just gotta hook that up somehow...hmmm
So anywhos, while I'm on the horse subject (when am I not?) I took a lesson with Joan at the Equestrian Center last week and I think I like her style a lot more than Cindy's at Rocky Bayou, and the lessons are more affordable. A package of 4 lessons is $95. ONE lesson at Rocky Bayou is $50. And Joan is very interactive and really puts her full attention into her advanced riders. I almost felt bad because a young girl was riding that day too and Joan asked me just that evening if I wanted to ride and then turned the one hour into a two hour and rode her horse and demonstrated for me and everything lol. I think she gets excited to actually have someone she can work with, not just walk, trot, leadline stuff like most of the students there. And it will be more affordable to go to shows, and it's right down the street so eventually I'll be riding Chloe in my lessons. Exciting! :D

So anyways, she focuses more on centered riding and relaxing your body, and I'm more used to focusing on my position of course, but also being sort of rushy and alert and in a "gotta go" mode, so she's really slowing me down and making me think about everything I'm doing and relearning the basics which is always good.

I'm also thinking about moving Chloe to a new barn. It's still close (there's 4 barns in the area), so I could still ride her to my lessons. It's called Joiners and it is under new ownership so they are making a lot of renovations and they have better benefits that are still affordable. They are putting a brand new roof on the barn, fertilizing and completely irrigating the huge turnout fields that surround the stable (very picturesque). They feed and turnout in the morning (right now at Hollytree Stables Bev feeds but doesn't turn out so Chloe only gets turned out when I can get out there, not good for a 3 year old) and she would be turned out with other horses which I know she would looove and she'd be out all day and then come in in the evening. There's also a jump arena and the reservation is right across the street which means miles of trails that stretch all the way to Alabama! It'd be about $50 bucks more a month, but I'm making more now so it would work out and we'd both be happier. At Hollytree there is only 6 ladies and 10 horses including me and Chloe and usually I'm there by myself which isn't much fun and at Joiners theres a lot more people. :D
My old instructor, Cindy just moved her horses there, so I know it's gotta be a good barn. It's weird I've been having dreams every night about moving. Some good some weird... So we'll just see how things go, but yeahhhhhhh!

Um, right now there's not much to look forward to but my days off at the barn. I miggght get to go to Mississippi for my niece Jade's b-day but thats a big IF I can get off. I may go on a sorta date with the guy I went to prom with in high shcool...strange much, lol. Um so yeah, I'm just taking it day by day gettin through it. Ain't life grand?

Krystle

Here's some new pics from the barn that I posted in the horsey communities but was really too lazy to post here lol so here's the link
http://community.livejournal.com/4theluvofhorses/816717.html

So erm....I've been at Banfield Pet Hospital for about a week now, and I like it but it just sucks being new and starting all over again at a new place. Everything that you document or work with is on a touch screen computer, so the whole system is different but besides that it's just good to be back in a vet tech position, and not being stepped all over by the jerks at Niceville Animal Clinic. I went by Thursday to get my check and Amber told me that a few days after I left a lot of shit went down. I guess their last nice person has left the building lol. Dr. Jenny tried to demote the receptionist supervisor, Tori because she isn't being enough of a bitch and getting people to do what they're supposed to. When really, Tori is the most down to earth person ever, who does her work and it's not her fault the rest of the people are stupid and ok I'm going to stop venting now b/c I no longer have to work at that hole in the wall anyways...

So I had my first riding lesson at Rocky Bayou Stables a few weeks ago and I really like my trainer. Her name is Cindy Stainback and she's super nice and a great instructor. I rode a 16.2h Thoroughbred chestnut gelding named Kyle. He's a nice guy but he's a really foreward going horse, and I'm still getting back into riding shape so its kinda hard to keep up with him lol. Not to mention I could have hit myself for going out partying the night before so I was really tired and had no energy. But no regrets, b/c it was sort of an "inroductory" lesson anyways, just getting back to the basics and getting the old clocks turning again. My legs were sooooo sore afterwards. It's amazing when you're actually riding correctly with your stirrups shortened and your toes in, heels down, shoulders back, and all that...it really makes a difference from just trail riding lol.

Like 6 girls from Southern Cross moved to Rocky Bayou b/c they jacked up their board even more from the $560 something that it was before, and that's just for basic care! Lorie Kelly is insane. So now the Cox sisters are at R.B. along with their "trainer mother" Laura Cox. I can't stand those people they are so stuck up. I remember going to a show with my friend Hailey and her pony Hot Shot when we were 10 years old and Catie and Cassie were the notorious girls that everyone hated and that was like 10 years ago! lol Why did they have to move to the same barn that I take lessons at??? But besides that I really like Rocky Bayou. If I wanted to work two jobs to pay for their $465 board a month I would, but why pay that much when I could pay $145, ya know. So next time I'm going to ride a more easy going horse until I get my muscles back up to par. Oh, and new pics of Chloe coming soon! :)

So I'm off tomorrow so I finally get to sleep in and go to the barn.

C ya later peeps,
Krystle

She is the prom queen
I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader
I'm sittin in the stands
She gets the top bunk
and I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America
And I'm just the girl next door
"The Girl Next Door" - Saving Jane

I love that song, lol. So today was a half day for me at work so I went to the barn in the afternoon and rode Chloe a little bit and walked her down the road to get her used to the cars and such and of course when I do, there's barely any cars. Weird. I passed by The Equestrian Center and a girl named Cassie that I know drove by and said Chloe looked really good in her western gear lol. My mom came by since she hasn't seen Chloe in ages and doted on her some more and then my tired self headed home.

Yesterday was vet day for Chloe. Dr Henderson came out around 7pm because Chloe's vaccinations were due and so were Bev's horses. So Dr. Henderson diagnosed the bumps on her side as cartilige from her ribs that was torn when she went through some sort of tight space. It's called a "floating rib" but really, it's cartilige and it's harmless. He says he has a dog with the same thing. It's quite comical that Dr. Ford (who has since moved out of the state) told me that it was a heaves line and that my two and half year old horse had heaves when it's usually diagnosed in older horses. Dr. Henderson said it's definitley not heaves, she just had a upper respitory infection which was treated by the antibiotics he gave me after Dr. Ford had no idea what to do.

So anyways, she got her West Nile, EWT, and Strangles vaccines. She wasn't the greatest patient lol. I was a little scared she was going to rear, but he was quick so it wasn't that bad. She really hated the Strangles vacc. because it's nasal and he put a tube down her nose. But she's all set now and I also got her a Lik-It for her stall which she was tossing back and forth and letting it roll around on her neck like a massager with her eyes closed and her lip all droopy LOL. It's cherry flavored but I don't think she likes the cherry so I got a molasses refill for it.

Tomorrow I'm going to call Rocky Bayou Stables and set something up with the hunter/jumper trainer to take one or two lessons a month so it won't break the bank that much. I think there's another PHJA show in May. Wouldn't that be like friggin awesome if I could compete in a flat class or two? Coolies.

C Y@ L8Terz,
Krystle

All is well on my end, for now anyways. :) Wednesday I went in for my trial day at Banfield Pet Hospital (located in Pet Smart) for the vet tech position. It went really well and Dr. Debuc is really cool. She's middle aged, and kinda resembles a barbie doll, Louis Vitton bag and all lol. She is really down to earth and doesn't just designate her duties to strictly seeing the patient and then leaving and hiding in her office. Unlike Dr. Jenny who was her employees pick up her dry cleaning, mail, and kids for her, and reserves herself only for coming in the room (when all the dirty work is taken care of) diagnosing the patient, then leaving to finalize her dinner plans.

I put in my two weeks yesterday, who hoo! Since my supervisor, Tori is out because she has a cyst on her ovaries, I told Mrs. Ilse the german business manager who was surprisingly understanding. I am one of her few favorite people and she said that she is happy for me and that it is Niceville's loss that I am going to another clinic. She said that I am the nicest, most caring person she's ever met and that I am welcome back anytime.

So I'm excited and nervous at the same time about starting a new career venture. Banfield seems cool, right now there's only three other techs, so I should have plenty of great opportunites and Dr. Debuc told me personally that she would love the train me as a tech and that it will be a great career builder. It's a pretty high tech clinic too, all the files are in the computer and it's a touch screen system, and the x ray screens are built into the wall, the patient have moniters that moniter the amount of fluids they intake, etc. And it's in Pet Smart so theres a huge store full of pet supplies. Exciting!

Chloe finally got her hooves trimmed too, and I got to meet my new farrier, Andrew Crawford. He's a young guy (cutie) and he was good with Chloe, so I like him. He trims and shoes horses all throughout Florida and Alabama and even does Pat Parrelli's horses! So her pretty little hooves are all round and smooth and that makes me happy to see her in good health and over the upper respitory infection too. No more coughing! I've taken some new pictures of her and hopefully tomorrow Bev can take some of me riding too.

I'm still waiting for my dang income tax return to come in grr! I thought it would come in sooner, so I spent money on stuff I needed and now I'm completly broke. The Pensacola Hunter Jumper show is this weekend but of course I have no extra gas money, or any english riding friends my age to go with, so of course that sucks. But anyways, today was a low key, hang around the house day, so tomorrow will be full barn day.

C Y@ On Tha FliP SidE,
Krystle

    <lj:music>Cuz I'm A Rider-Akon & Young Geezy</lj:music>

Rainy, drippy day. Slept in a bit, played with my kitty. Oh, and my kitty Bruiser got spayed! Awhh. And she has neon green sutures! lol She is so spoiled she has all her vaccs and I got her microchipped too. Dr. Davis did a really good job. I could tell he took his time on her because it's a very good, small incision. Yeah Dr D!, even though you're an arrogant a-hole... Ok enough vet talk, lol.

Went to the barn, hand walked Chloe cuz it was about to rain so I didn't turn her out. So I put her up and go around the corner to get my wheelbarrel and who do I meet? None other than Axle munching on grass, LOOSE behind the barn. I was like uh, hi Axle. Are you supposed to be out? lol So I ran and shut the main gate and called Bev and she said that he must have knocked down the boards in his run and I went and checked and sure enough he did! So I tried to catch him but he was running around like a mad man going, "ha ha I got out!" So I went and got a carrot and was waving it around and of course the big brute came running lol. He's so big compared to Chloe, I'm not used to leading around something that massive! So I turned him out, nailed the board back on and went and got him from the field and put his big butt back in his stall. lol

My sister Melanie is in town and she wants me to babysit tongiht. Grr...the things I agree to....it's like 5 kids and they're all boys! Ahh! Hopefully the money I get will make it worthwhile.
I'm starting to relax a little more and I'm back on the medication I've been on twice before, and obviously I need to stay on it. Because I will get better and think I don't need it, so I stop taking it, when really I should stay on it all the time. It's something about chemical inbalances of seratonin in the brain causing emense anxiety resulting in depression. Boy, aren't I insightful? lol So yeah...and as I go back on meds so does my horse...

I called Dr. Henderson to get antibiotics for Chloe since Dr. Ford never got back to me, needless to say I will never use him again. Dr. Henderson is very good, he'll definitley be her regular vet. So anyways, she's on an antibiotic called Ditrim for 10 days so hopefully it'll turn out that she does have an upper respitory infection and maybe dust allergies but not COPD. We'll just see how things go from here.

Oh I heard something really funny at the barn yesterday. Kinda freaky, I guess. Amanda the owner was riding Rider in the arena as I pulled up and she was like, "Did you hear about that crazy lady jumping on Axle's back yesterday?" And I was like NO! lol
She said some car stopped in front of the barn and this lady strung out on all kinds of drugs, jumped the fence and went into Axle's run and hopped on his back! Amanda said he just slung her off and ran back into his stall. The lady was like, "Please don't call the cops, I just luvvv horses!" But Amanda called them anyways and the people drove off really quick. Too bad that lady didn't know that Axle is only 5 and not very broke because his owner Beverly never rides him. Last year he bucked a lady off and broke her ribs that in turn punctured her lung! I would be so pissed if she had jumped on Chloe, who's run is right before his. She's only 2, and I don't want her having problems being ridden in the future because some crazy drug addict jumped on her. That's one of the bad things about having a stable in the city. LOL Crazy stuff.

I'm at Frogs To Dogs today in Destin and that office is so dead. It's just one person sitting there all day answering the phone which rings maybe two or three times every couple of hours..yawn....I've read so many magazines and horses books I'm bored silly and I really don't want to go back from my lunch break. LOL

Back to Boredom,

Krystle

So it hasn't been a very good time for me lately. I spent the last few hours crying, hating myself, and feeling very alone. I keep pushing everyone away and I don't know how to make that stop or feel comfortable in my own skin.

My niece used to look up to me and text me everyday just to say hey. Now since she's last seen me, and knows that I've changed, that I'm always stressing and unhappy with my life, not wanting to talk to people because I'm uncomfortable every single second and I can't fucking stand myself! Why should other people want to be around me? So I'm not the fun loving aunt she once knew, I haven't heard from her or anyone else for that matter in weeks, about a month. I have my friends at work, but it's not the same when they don't know the real you. I just want to climb into a hole and stay there. This really sucks. I felt so alone today that I actually asked my mom to go to a horse show with me which she declined, not knowing it would hurt my feelings. So I went home and slept all day instead of seeing an A rated show circuit that only comes around once. All I have right now is my cat, which is pathetic. :/ As I was balling my eyes out in my room she came up to me and put her paw on my hand and nuzzled my cheek as the tears ran down. And now I'm crying just thinking about it again.

My life has no meaning or direction right now. I still haven't started college because I don't have the money or the motivation. I'm a high school graduate and I make $6.50 an hour and my brother dropped out and got his G.E.D. and is making $10.00 working in a grocery store deli. I'm 19 and drowning in debt because of an accident I couldn't control. I go through the motions of everyday life not really living it, just getting through it. I'm sure I should get back on medication, but that would be admitting defeat.

I need to leave my job, but I stay there because it is "safe" and I know what I'm doing and I would have to start all over at a new job. Even though I know they don't deserve me there. They moved me to reception, though everyone in the building knows I want to be in lab, threw me to the wolves over Christmas and made me run Frogs To Dogs by myself, and take care of over 30 dogs in the kennel, I got no Christmas bonus after all that. Not to mention it's a 25 mile drive each way, equalling 50 miles 4-5 days a week. If I leave the clinic, I'll no longer be working at a veterinary clinic which was the whole point to have expeirence for being a vet tech or putting on a resume. Now I don't even know what I want to do. And where would I go? A restaurant or a clothing store or what? I wish I could travel taking care of horses but like that would ever happen.

I doubt anybody will read this anyways, so again I'm all alone trapped in my own pointless life, and I don't care if I sound like a downer, because it's the truth.

Gulf Coast Winter Series....Yeah!!!

I got my 15" Black Synthetic Western Trial Saddle in! It's kind of weird owning a western saddle...I've always rode english and all lol. My tack locker is funny looking because I have my two english bridles/full cheek snaffle, fleece girth, leathers and stirrups, velvet helmet, black tall boots, half chaps and paddock boots, pictures of jumpers, and then a western saddle and cinch on my saddle rack lol. What a contradiction.

Yesterday I got paid and went to Sharons Barnyard and Beyond and got Chloe Zimectrin Gold dewormer and Cough Free powder. And I got a purple riding crop, Kincade bit keepers that match my bridle and hold the full cheek bit up nicely, and a purple bridle hook. I splurged lol but all of it I will use on a daily basis, so yeah. Chloe is still coughing like a maniac and not eating her feed. But I think it's because she can taste the tri-hist granules and I've heard horses don't like them so I'm going to have to figure out another way for her to want to eat them. Grr. I will consult the great people on 4theluvofhorses about this matter...:)

Financially, I'm stable I guess you could say. My board, car insurance, Beverly, and some money I owe my mom is paid. I still owe four doctors offices totaling over $1000, not including the hospital which is over $10,000. I owe Arianna for stupidly falling for that lady's offer to lease Smokey, then taking him back and giving me less than half of the deposit back. Hey, you live and you learn. I just wish money wasn't something I woke up and worried about every stinkin day. I'm 19 for crying out loud! But anyways, on a more positive note,

The Escambia County Equestrian Center is hosting the Gulf Coast Winter Series which is usually held in Gulf Port, MS but it got totalled for Katrina. It's going on Feb 8-26. Awesome!!! It's like an hour and a half from my house. So I plan on going atleast twice. What an awesome expierence. The entry fee on classes is like $200 and up. Fancy fancy.

Tonight is the Grand Prix at 7:00pm with $25,000 prize money. Crazy! So I'm headed to the stables soon and then from there to the Equestrian Center. How exciting!

C Y@ 0n Th@ FliP sIdE,
Krystle

Up In Smoke

So some pretty crazy stuff has gone down in the past two weeks.

The vet I work for, Dr. Jennifer Fortune's house burned to the ground. I had a long drawn out explanation and then my power/computer went off and I'm too pissed off to write it all again. But anyways, I went there Thursday to bring towels because her and her family are trying to salvage what they can. When I pulled up it was really shocking and I didn't know what to say. All that is left is the frame, stair case, and upper bedrooms. Anything within 50 feet of the house is covered in black ash and soot. She had all these beautiful antiques and some were spared from the fire. So I asked if I could help with anything and she said that they needed help cleaning off the furniture.

She walked me through the house and you could tell that it was a gorgeous home. I had only been there once before when I dropped her daughter Jamie off from school. It had marble floors and countertops but all the cabinets are burned and black. We walked through the living room and the stain glass window around the doorway is somewhat intact but very eerie. Light shines through the lavender/green floral pattern and illuminates the charred remains of the house. We walked up the staircase with no walls surrounding it, past the childrens bedrooms where windows are blown out and all that's left is burned beds, books, and broken glass that is scattered randomly here and there. It was very emotional and I told her that she was in my family's prayers and especially my Aunt Mary who went to high school with her and they graduated the same year. We said our goodbyes and I gave her hug. It was a little akward since I haven't known her that long, but it seemed like the right thing to do.

It turns out that the cause of the fire were squirrels in the attic that chewed through the electrical wiring. Which is pretty ironic seeing that she is a vet and saves animals lives everyday, yet animals were the cause of her family's devastation. It's just crazy. So it's been a little over a week and the community has been really supportive sending flowers and donating clothing. Fortunatley she makes a good living so they will be able to rebuild. I still can't believe it happened. Tori (a friend from work) and I are going to video tape the house and interview people from work/friends and family and send her story in to Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition. You never know, they could accept it. She's such a known and liked figure in the community.

So that's the biggest thing that has happened lately. My Aunt's cat Mindy died two days ago. She was like 23 years old, this white skinny thing that I can remember back to when I was like 4 years old. We're going to burry her next to the house were all the other faitful pets are buried.

Wow this post has been depressing. :P But it makes you grateful for what you have and you realize that tragedies that you see on the news or read in the newspaper everyday, that you never think could happen to anyone you know, is a reality.

God Bless,
Krystle

So I'm currently in the great state o' Mississippi, sup ya'll? lol
Melanie, Jade, and Chance came down to Destin Friday and went went out to eat at Sakuras (Japanese restaurant)with my dad and his girlfriend Kelly and Mel's mom Dawn. (Mel's my half sister). It was her birthday and her mom's b-day is in a few days so it was their b-day dinner. I had shrimp tempura and sushi. It was really good. Oh, and I also had saki. lol Thats some strong stuff. My dad said it was ok so it wasn't a big deal. Then we went to the Elks Lodge after dinner and boy was that a hoot. It's basically an old persons club that my Dad and Kelly go to like every night. They had karoke and these 60 year old ladies were singing all these old Elvis songs lol. So Jade and I got on there and were singing Allstar by Smashmouth and I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly. Those were the only current songs they had besides Britney Spears. It was comical. Then some old lady bartender was all over me because I asked my dad to get me a strawberry daquiri and he goes and gets me a non virgin one. So I'm like uhh...and didn't think anyone would noticed so I drank it and then the lady came over and wanted my i.d. and all. So Melanie and I went outside to go get it and I'm like, should I just say I forgot it or something? So we just went back in and I steered clear of the lady and she asked me not to come near the bar. Which was fine with me, old bat.

So Saturday I went to the stable and mucked and turned out and got ready for the hay man to come. Turns out Bev didn't tell him there's a new boarder so I'm going to have get some from other people. This is the second time that this has happened and its shit. I'm a boarder there just like everbody else. If they get 10 bales each, then I should too. So anyways, the vet did come out Thursday night and checked Chloe over for her cough. It looks like it may be allergies and her left gland under her throat is swollen too. And he said to watch it b/c it could be STRANGLES! Like what the hell is up with that? It MAY be strangles? But most likely its allergies and he gave me some tri-hist granules to mix in her feed so hopefully it'll help. Overall it was $88.00 geez. But it's worth it for the bestest girl in the world.

So Sat. afternoon (yesterday) I came home from the stables, packed a small bag, and met Melanie at Lee's house and we headed to Mississippi. Their house is really nice. There's pillars in the front, and circular drive, a fire place and back deck. It's cool and they have a nice little neighborhood too. But I swear the destruction over hear is nuts. There are boats slung up in yards and just debris everywhere. Most places is just plain slabs of concrete where their houses were just washed out. We drove threw Biloxi and saw the casinos all smashed to bits. It's really sad. Most people are in FEMA trailers. Crazy crazy stuff.

But I gotta go Mel and I are gonna go pick up Jade and go to WalMart and exchange one of her bday gifts and such. Tomorrow is going to Boot World (some western tack shop) and then heading back to Florida.

Krystle

So I talked to an friend of mine from high school, Nicole Willoughby on the phone a few weeks ago. She gave me her cell phone number and I sort of miss placed it..oops. But anyways she called me again last night and invited me to go bowling with her and her boyfriend Bo. I haven't seen her for a few years and she seems really different so I told her I'd go another weekend. I felt kind of bad, but she sounded really different when I talked to her a few weeks ago. We were in dance class for 3 years together and we were just really good friends and could laugh about anything. Well, so she said on the phone that she got into a car accident and got money from the insurance company. My first reaction was, Oh my gosh are you ok? She said that she wasn't hurt, only her car got messed up. But guess what she used the money on? A BOOB JOB. I mean she was tall, skinny, and blonde in high school and I know the guys were always gawking at her, but why did she feel that she had to get a boob job to feel better about herself?

So she's also going on and on about Bo, her boyfriend. That she lives with. With his kid from a previous relationship. Like WTF? People change pretty quickly. But I guess I'm not surprised because she was always relying on reassurance from her various boyfriends in high school too. So her parents moved to Washington and she's living with this guy and his son. I guess she doesn't realize that if he were to leave her, she would have no where else to go. She is completely dependent on him and my fear is that she's going to end up pregnant next.

So what do I do? Do I hang out with her even though she's become this completely different person? They say you are who you surround yourself with. I'm not about to let her influence me into going out all the time and doing drugs and alcohol. Because I'm THREW with giving in to my friends that do that and get me to do it too. They know thats not my style, and if they were my real friends they wouldn't do it around me. Like, if you want to smoke and drink and do drugs, great. Then do it with your other friends and when you want to hang out with me, then expect NOT to do that shit. I haul enough of it every day, I don't need to live in it. (Excuse the pun)

I dunno. But what I do know is that this year, I'm sticking up for myself and saying, doing, and acting like what I feel is right. I'm tired of being stepped on and pressured. Sorry if this sounds like some cheesy teen commercial or something. But this is how I feel, and that's how it is. So about Nicole, I think I will hang out with her the next time she invites me, but if it involves anything that I'm not cool with then I'm out. Who knows, maybe I can even convince her that she doesn't need big boobs and a boyfriend to feel good about herself.

I don't know where all of this came from but I'm glad I said it. I'm headed to the barn to set up an outside light in Chloe's run and one over the crossties since I'm there at night a lot. See ya'll later.

Krystle

Hello all. I'm off today and I slept in until 10:00. I was so exhausted. Last night on the way home from the barn I could feel myself wanting to drift off. So yeah, um.... hmmm....what to say..lol. So I got FINALLY got my 4 3/4" full check snaffle bit in. Yeah! There's a pic of it at the bottom of the page. I sold my saddle for $99 including shipping. Now I don't have a saddle though, so I'm saving for a synthetic 15" western saddle. I already bought a 26" western cinch..I'm going over to the darkside lol. Usually all my stuff is english. I also got the picture that Beverly took on her cell phone uploaded too. I turned in my application at Friendship Vet...

Oh, and GET THIS, Mrs. Ilse our business manager at the clinic took it upon herself and talked to Dr. Jenny, I guess about how nice I am and a hard worker and all, and that I really want to be in lab, and she said that Dr. Jenny thinks that I could go back into lab (time pending..) and to keep asking questions and when a customer doesn't like something it's too bad, just say what you mean and that's it. (My biggest learning expeirence b/c I don't like to be mean with people! he he) So that's definitley a highlight of the week.

Oh and there was a big stir about the Destin clinic Frogs to Dogs. Something like the Destin City Council is taking part of the parking lot by imminent domain for widening of the intersection...I dunno but it was funny b/c nobody at the clinic knew about it but since my Grandma is on so many commitees and my mom's really nosey and reads the newspapers alot I got the inside scoop. lol B/c the lady that owns the actually property (Dr. Jenny just leases it) has been calling the Nicville clinic alot and everbody's like, gosh who is this lady thats calling so much..and I was like hmm I dunno?.. but whatever
Enough about inner Destin politics lol

So now I'm gonna try to get myself looking decent and go to Barnes N Noble to use my gift certifact on a horse training book (much needed) and here's my pics:

Look at those longs legs! lol She looks a lot shorther than me in this pic because she was on lower ground. <lj:music>Fiona Apple ~ Criminal</lj:music>

Sup peeps?

Random update. I went in late today to work to get an application at Friendship Veterinary and they already hired a vet tech. Just my luck. But I'm going to put in my app. anyways. I would have gotten it earlier but my work's hours and that clinic's hours are completley different so I had to call in late just to finally get an application. And the coffee shop isn't hiring for another month. Jeesh.

Chloe's doing good. Much less...horrible. I don't think feed has everything to do with her behavior, for 1. she's an arab so she's crazy 2. she's young + she's a mare so she's gonna be moody 3. she needs to be turned out alot 4. her training is ongoing. And thats that. Bev got a new camera phone and snapped a picture of us when we weren't expecting it (scandalized)... but it's cute so I posted it. (Well not yet, b/c photobucket sucks!!!

Last night my family and I went out for my stepdad's b-day and to celebrate my Aunt Grace coming into town. It was really good to see her, she's awesome. We went to an italian restaurant and I of course got the seafood fettucine alfredo yum! And my b-day card was by far the funniest so it was a good evening.

My saddle finally got a bid and sold for $69.00, eh. Including the leathers, stirrups, girth, and bit that kinda sucks. But oh well, I'm using it towards a black laced synthetic western trail saddle. I figure I can always get another english saddle when I have the money/opportunity to get back into english lessons. For now it's more practical to get a less expensive (safer) saddle to ride a young horse in. I got a 26" cinch, and since I don't know much about western fittings, hopefully it'll fit her.

The lady I bought that full cheek snaffle bit from said it should FINALLY be coming in the next few days. Granted it's been 19 days since I sent her the payment! Ahhh! That is the only bad expierence I've incured on ebay. Stupid mail. Hopefully now I can start working with her more and everything will actually fit her. *~Crossing fingers~*

So tomorrow is...what else? Work. I'm not off til Friday and I work Saturday. Double poo.

Peace out and tell the haters to kiss it
Krystle

So today Bruiser went to the vet. She is only 10 weeks instead of 12...and she got her FVRCP which is the feline distemper and FELEUK which is feline leukemia. In 4 weeks she'll get another distemper, feleuk, bordetella, and her rabies. And then spayed shortly after.
So Dr. Jenny comes in the room for a total of about 60 seconds? She looked to see that she was a female, listened to her heart beat, and confirmed that she has horrid ear mites. And then she was gone. I mean I can understand if she had an important phone call or something, but I was there another ten minutes while Jessica flushed out her ears and gave me the antibiotics and she never came back. I just don't like Dr. Jenny's "proffessionalism" if you could call it that. It was Bruiser's first physical and I didn't get the chance to ask her any questions or anything. Grr. Not cool.

So then I went to Sharon's Barnyard and got a Purina feed scoop that tells you the amount in pounds and a double ended clip for my stall door, went to Dairy Queen and got a (yummy) French Vanilla Moolatae, and went to the stables. I lunged Chloe (finally) for about 10 minutes. I didn't do it long because it's been forever and young horses have a small attention span as it is. So if I keep at it, I'll gradually increase the time. She did good and actually kept at a trot longer than 2 seconds. She still throws her head up and yanks sideways but not that bad. Turned her out and cleaned while Bruiser sat in her cage on my tack trunk horrifed of the barn cats. She's like wow, they're so big mom! Ahh. lol She was shell shocked from the vet too lol. Went home vegged and now I need to get my butt to bed because I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. as usual. But atleast I have the weekend off and my Aunt Grace is coming in from Virgina on Sunday which is crazy because my relatives never visit. I can't wait she's awesome. And if my saddle does not get a bid on ebay soon, so help me..!!! lol
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7210501936&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

Krystle

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! EAT TONS OF CANDY, T.P. HOUSES, AND BRING YOUR CATS IN! :D ~

So yesterday I drove with the kids down to Destin and met Melanie at Lee's house. Then we all went out to eat at a decent Mexican restaurant and I order of course, a chicken quesadilla. Thank goodness it was slow and we were the only ones in there because it was Melanie and her two kids, me, and Lee and her three boys. Little kids=headache! So then we were on our way to the movies and I'm stopped at a red light and this man in the car next to me kept looking over at me and I'm like what are you looking at dude? So I pulled up a little more but then Jade saw him pointing to my back right tire so I rolled down my window and the guys like, "Your back tire's really low!" lol I felt bad b/c at first I thought he was a weirdo. So I pulled into the WalMart gas station and my tire was wayyy low. Thank the G that guy saw that b/c I would have never checked it and gotten a flat tire. :) So then Jade and I saw Dreamer and everyone else saw the Nightmare-Before-Christmasish-movie-with-Johnny-Depp-that-I-can't-think-of-right-now....lol Dreamer was good, but it was long and I don't see how little kids could sit through it. It had a lot of setbacks in the beginning so the happy parts were towards the end of the movie. But an overall good horse movie, none the less.

So today was a looong day at work but it was also the first day I felt like things were starting to click. Like this is were I belong. Today a kitten came in that looks exactly like Boots, an old friend. :P I named him Dapple. I'm off tomorrow, what am I going to do with myself? Sleep in thats what. Oh, and my mom has our house decked out in all of her halloween stuff, just like she does every year. I'm talkin spiderwebs, lights, spooky music, carved pumpkins, decorations....the works. Atleast she left out the dry ice this year. She's having a good time so I ignore her crazy antics. :P

Krystle

Me, my niece Jade, and my sister Melanie

So today I finally get to go see Dreamer! Yeahhhh! I'm going today at 2:30 with Melanie and the kids and Lee. I'm in Destin right now but I've been in Ponce most of the weekend. I'm fostering a Katrina dog through the clinic! She's a huskie/german shepard mix and she's so cute and crazy hyper. I've named her Silly, because well... she is silly and it's a lot better than calling her D-8. lol (All the foster dogs have numbers) She has sky blue eyes, really soft fur, and a bright pink collar, and she's so friendly. I take her on weekends b/c I go to Ponce on the weekend and she loves to run around and play and gets along with my sister's dog. But not the cats so she can only come in at night b/c it's seriously FF-REEZING up there! And when I pulled in Friday night I saw a coyote near the barn that ran into the woods and the next morning there were white feathers everywhere so it's eating the chickens.

So last night I watched the kids b/c Melanie went to a Halloween party with her friend Lee at Hell-n-Back and Chuck was supposed to stay at the house but he obviously got crazy jealous and followed Melanie down to Destin to ruin her night, of course. Men.
She said that she still had a good time though, and they got a limo and everything. My sister's a baller!

Oh, and there have been no more escape attempts by Chloe since the fence was fixed. But get this, Melanie was showing the house to some peole who wanted to buy it and they were walking the property. So the lady supposedly has horses or something so she was whistling and calling to Chloe and of course Chloe gets all excited and stuff and starts her little Arabian prancyness and is running up and down the fence and she ran smack into a tree! Just her right side hit it, Melanie said (I wasn't up there). So now she has a big open sore on her right hip and a long cut on her back right leg. Errrrr. Stupid lady. But atleast it isn't that deep and I put antibiotic ointment on the sore and cleaned her cut on her leg and vet-wrapped it. So it should heal ok, but I bet she'll have an ugly scar on her leg. GRRRR

So anywhos, right now I'm bored and waiting for the clock to roll around to go to the movies...so I'll catch ya'll later peeps.

Krystle

So I LOVE my job. It is so interesting and everyday is new animals with new cases so it definitley keeps you on your toes! I've been there for two weeks tomorrow and already I've gotten uber amounts of expierence. This job is so awesome and you actually use your brain! Today we had class about measurements, doses, terms and uses of different seringes/needles, blood machines, etc. It is hard some days when you get yelled at by the German office manager because my time card is screwed up and people stress you out, and the hours are long and the pay is cheap but it's so worth it! I get paid tomorrow but the money is already dolled out. $150 for my car insurance, $112 for the citation, $32 to my mom for helping me with my car payment last month and I still owe her so much more, $15 for Chloe's dewormer and $10 for her food that has to last two weeks, and $25 for my bridge toll scanner. So that leaves me with barely enough for gas and Oct's car payment is going to be late. I'm 19 years old and I'm in debt up to my ears. Somebody shoot me.

I've been stressed lately about my stupid fender bender too, because the people are trying to sue for bodily injury: $10,000 per person/$20,000 per accident. EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THAT DAY THAT THEY WERE FINE AND TOLD THE POLICE OFFICER THAT NO ONE WAS HURT AND IT WAS THE LITTLEST FENDER BENDER EVVVER!!! And I have to give a claim statement and ever time I call the lady at USAA I always get her answering machine! But today she called while I was at work and told my mom that it would not be going to trial and that they were settling for less than $10,000. Stupid lying people. Oh, lol...and like my cooky mother, she looked up the peoples address and drove by their house and it's a mansion on the water! So why are they trying to sue a broke 19 year old? So that was a relief to hear I won't have to pay out of pocket.

Melanie left today for Mississippi because Chuck is trying to sucker her into moving there because he's moved there permanetly. So her crazy mother Dawn is feeding my horse tonight (scary) and she's feeding her more than she usually gets since no one will be there in the morning to feed. So tomorrow's my half day and I have the WHOLE WEEKEND OFF!!! Yesss! Even though my weekend is doomed to a lonely existence by myself in Ponce de Leon. But atleast I'll have my little horsey girl. She needs to be worked with b/c I haven't had the time b/c I've been working so much. Maybe I can get the girls with ponies down the street to ride with me. Chloe is so lonely all by herself.
Random, but I keep thinking about Jesse which is weird since it's almost been a year since we started going out and then broke up 2 months later. Maybe that's why because last fall around this time is when I met him.....

Tomorrow is hanging with Arianna, Liz, and Patti at the Commons for a few hours so thats something to look forward to even though I can't spend any moolah. That movie Dreamer is coming out about a race horse with Dakota Fanning that I so want to see. And Elizabethtown. Guess I'll have to wait :(

Ok, now I'm just babbling on about stuff thats jammed in my brain and won't get out so....I'll talk to ya'll laters.......

Krystle

O.K. dudes, get this: Chloe jumped the fence again! Where Melanie had tied the leadrope across the fence was 4 feet! And she jumped it! She said that she pulled up in the yard after coming home from WalMart and there she was in the front yard just grazing with the chickens! Atleast she didn't go anywhere. I just got home from my half day at the clinic and I'm going up there soon so I'll figure out a way to fix that part of the fence so she can't get out. LOL

This obviously isn't Chloe but I thought it was funny. he he

Are there any amnimals in here?....
-"Lilo" from Lilo and Stich

So tomorrow and Saturday are only half days, thank the Lord! B/c everyday is usually a 9 hour day not counting my lunch break. Which is a nifty 2 hour break which is pretty pimptastic. Oh!, and guess what? This morning Melanie called me before I was going out the door and said that Chloe JUMPED the fence! There is a low part in the fence near the woods that is 3 1/2 feet and she soared over it! Melanie said that she was outside on the porch and she hadn't fed Chloe yet, and that she must have gotten tired of waiting because she just went and free jumped over the pasture fence! I definitley have a jumper on my hands! he he ....But in the meantime, I need to fix that part of the fence so she doesn't get out again. I finally get to see her Sat. afternoon and all of Sunday.

So work's been pretty good. I gave my first vaccinations to a cat named Cutter yesterday and am even starting to brave going into the rooms by myself! Some of the clients can be scary though, like this one lady who was a major biotch. Oh, and it was so funny today this lady that was seriously from Mars, no joke, came in today with a ton of feral cats and kittens trying to get us to put them in our Pawprints adoption program. But we only take them if they're 6-8wks and these were a lot older. So Dr. Davis is a pushover and took two of the kittens and the lady was still chewing him out. She was like muttering to herself and trying to grab other owners coming in to convince them to take her cats. She's got like a million more at her house. So now we call her the cat lady. Cuz she's nuts. lol

But anywho, I'm proud of myself because I haven't played favorites. But then this 3 month old kitten was dropped of in a box on the doorstep, and I've become really attached to him. He's a black tabby, just like the former love of my life, Boots the cat. I've called him Eques, cuz it's a horse derived name of course. I can foster him if I want, but I'd have to ask my dad if I can keep him over at his house because my dogs would definitley eat him. My dad likes cats and feeds the local racoon and possum population, so I don't think he'd mind. It's just um....asking him? I never talk to my dad so I dunno I may just remove my reserve on the cat and let him go to a good home. :( Poor Eques. I wuv him. :D

I've been in touch with a lady in Wellborn, FL who had a working student position open which is a really neat position that includes housing and board for your horse and you ride and they help you train your horse in exchange for work. But they only pay $400 a month. It's this really fancy barn that breeds Trakhners and Warmbloods for dressage. But anywho, I told the lady for now it's not a good time because I just started this vet tech job and I'm broke right now. But she said that we should keep in touch and to think about another position opening up in 6 months. So we'll see how it goes.

Tonight I cooked my own dinner PROUD MUCH? fettucini alfredo (my fave food ever). Because it was my mom and Larry's wedding anniversery so they went out to eat at Olive Garden and brought me back a yummy dessert called Chocolate Lasagne. So I'm going to enjoy my dessert and go to bed and sleep in for once!

See ya around down town....yea yea

Krystle

    <lj:music>Do Somethin' ~ Britney Spears</lj:music>

Oh bloody hell I am so hungover! Well, not as much as I was this morning but it's still a dull throb in my temple. So last night I went with Arianna, Liz, Patty, Sherise, and April to Arianna's boss' house to celebrate Arianna's 18th birthday properly, which is getting crazy drunk and having a great time. Meagan, her boss spent $120 on alcohol! Arianna gave her $60 of it but that is crazzzzy! I of course got drunk too fast b/c I'm a light weight and hardly ever drink, so I was feeling pretty nasty. So I went outside and made myself throw up all the alcohol and I felt a lot better afterwards. So then I paced myself for the night but still ended up drinking a BUNCH! I was flirting with one of the foreigners and dive bombing on the couch and taking shots with Patty because we are the shots girls. I really like Patty, she's a super cool chick and we get along well even though she's only 15, but she didn't get trashed or anything. April, who like myself is a virgin and rightfully so, kept lifting up her shirt to try and flash everyone and falling flat on her face. We tryed to get her to lay down in the back, but she just kept getting back up. We think that she is sexually frustrated b/c she's almost 21 and has never even kissed a guy. lol More power to her!

So the boys eventually showed up and Brendan was a complete jerk. Like, when isn't that dude a jerk. He kept calling me a twig. The first time I was like, yeah o.k. but I do eat and all... but then he kept saying it. And then he called me a bitch, but I'm sorry if a bitch is a girl who actually doesn't take crap and stands up for herself, then yeah I'm a bitch. Serge, George, and Basko were the foreigners from Russia and they really don't know that much englais. I was shamelessly flirting with George but I think Serge thought it was aimed at him because he kept bringing me beers and trying to talk to me and I'm like, I hate beer! Ewww! lol So of course I was the first one to crash and everone else I think eventually simmered down. In the morning I drove Liz to work in Arianna's car since she was dead asleep and still drunk I think, lol. Driving that thing's like drivin a bus. It's so much bigger than my little Ford Focus. Patty came along for the ride and we talked and dished some dirt ohhhh I'll Never Tell...he he Then we went to Arbys and got everyone coffee and then came back to Meagans and chilled and relived the night and laughed about everyone's crazy asses. ha ha Then we went to Waffle House and ate and chatted up our cute waiter, who was a John Mayor lookalike. All the old people were giving us really weird looks, lol. Then Arianna took me back to Destin and now I am resting and trying to make myself study this sheet for the vet tech stuff (drugs, procedures, etc.) Ahhh! So I'm gonna get started peeps.

*Just Call me Genene* *Does Krystle rhyme with blister?...*
Krystle

So I got the Veterinary Technician position for everyone who doesn't already know! Go me, uh huh! A ray of hope in dark times! Eeek! Friday was my first day and it's really involved and there's a lot of responsiblity. But I'll get so much expierence and I've already given kittens their meds for internal parasites, assisted in anestesia prep, and a lot of other cool stuff. Eventually I will prep an animal for the vet to see them in appointments, give vaccinations, put animals under for surgery, evauluate for diseases/parasites, tons of other stuff, and it's just so neat. It's a really stiff environment, though. And it's hard to be 19 and be under all that stress all day long and nobody be very friendly to you, but hopefully they'll come around. This is what I've wanted to do since like forever and I can't believe I'm being trained at the clinic and not even paid for two years of school yet, which is still eventually what I want to do(go to Belrea Veterinary Technical School in Colorado for a large animal practice. But for now this is just awesome and well, hard work but it'll pay off in the end.

So I'm going to make this the quickest update ever. Or try to. Today I was running wayyy late for my training app. at Niceville Animal Clinic, I tried to reschedule but the lady said that the vet was going out of town so I couldn't. So I was all stressed out, and in a hurry to get there. I'm turning onto Indian Bayou Tr. off of Airport Rd., I look down for two seconds to get money out of my purse for the bridge toll, I look back up and BAM!!! I run into the back of an SUV that had stopped suddenly and was just sitting in the middle of the damn road! I was so shaken up and freaked out. So I pull over, get out, my car surprisingly only has paint chipped all down the center and a indented hole on the front right side. I talked to the guy and his wife and thank God they were super nice people and he called the police on his cell phone and we got it all squared away after half an hour of waiting and in the end I got a freakin traffic citation for careless driving! Like WTF????? It's $112 and I just recently paid $180 for my speeding ticket in August! I am so broke and I really don't need this right now. I missed Arianna's birthday party, I think I'm going to still go and maybe get there at the very end I guess. But Chuck left Jade up in Ponce all by herself and went to Mississippi, so I have to go up there and stay with her tonight !!@@:O@@!! GRRRR
And I have my rescheduled app. tomorrow at 9:00a.m. which is really messed up b/c I got in the accident in the first place because the Swedish lady said that there was no way to reschedule and I was all in a hurry to make it there in time, yet I really could have rescheduled. huuuh. So all in all thats 80 miles of my gas tank sucked? Why me. That's all I have to say.
